Registration

Good grazing land management is about understanding and managing your land and animals to optimize pasture growth & composition for maintaining sustainable production and landscape resilience.

Come along to hear from Healthy Land & Water and Department of Agriculture & Fisheries staff on key grazing land management principles and learn practical skills in assessing your land condition. 

Main topics covered include :

  • Recognising your land types and differences in productive capacity and limitations
  • Features of healthy pastures and recognising indicator species
  • Understanding Land Condition and it impacts on production and resilience
  • Key Grazing management principles – safe utilisation rates, stocking rates and rest 
  • Learn practical skills including how to assess Land Condition and establish monitoring sites .

Morning tea and lunch provided. 

The day will include field session on local property in Kin Kin to provide practical demonstration of how to assess and monitor pasture and land condition.  Please ensure you wear appropriate clothing, footwear and sun smart hat for the field session.

Please note the day will follow recommended COVID-safe guidelines for your health and safety.
